Does CBD affect dogs the same as humans?

Whether you are looking to help reduce your pet’s anxiety, improve their digestion or help with pain management, it is no secret that CBD can have a positive impact on our pets. It impacts your dog’s endocannabinoid system in a way that creates homeostasis, or a sense of balance and calmness. Many pets with anxiety and pain issues experience these sensations, and as such, are often able to live a happier, more comfortable life. However, it is important to remember that CBD impacts every pet differently and you may need to experiment with different brands, dosages, and forms to find what works best for them.

It is always best to consult your veterinarian before introducing anything new to your pet, including CBD. CBD is not an approved drug or treatment, so it’s important to be aware of what you are giving your pet and the potential side effects that could occur. In most cases, CBD does not cause drowsiness in dogs, but this can occur if your pet is given a higher dose than they are used to.

One of the most common reasons pet parents turn to CBD is for their pet’s pain management. CBD can be used to help alleviate pain from surgery or injury, as well as occasional stiffness and soreness caused by age or normal daily activity. CBD does this by promoting healthy cell activity and supporting the body’s natural inflammatory response.

Aside from relieving pain, CBD can also help with appetite and digestive problems. Studies show that CBD can stimulate the receptors that are responsible for appetite and digestion, thereby improving a pet’s appetite and helping with their digestive health. CBD can also be used to treat nausea and loss of appetite that is associated with chemotherapy or other medical treatments.

CBD has also been shown to help with gastrointestinal conditions, including IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) in pets. In fact, it can reduce symptoms such as diarrhea and constipation by regulating the flow of food through your pet’s digestive tract. CBD can also be used to treat inflammatory bowel disease, which is when the lining of the stomach becomes inflamed and painful.

Dog cbd can be administered in a variety of ways, including dropping directly into your pet’s mouth, or mixed in their favorite treat or chew. There are also pet-friendly CBD oil products, which contain the same CBD extract but in a pet-safe form.

When choosing a dog cbd product, be sure to look for a Certificate of Analysis (COA) on the label, which shows the results of the laboratory testing. A quality COA will indicate a low THC content, which is essential for dogs since THC is known to make them feel “stoned”.

When used correctly, CBD is a safe and effective treatment option for many pets suffering from anxiety, joint pain or other health concerns. It is important to start with a small dosage and monitor your pet closely for any changes in their behavior or physical symptoms, and to adjust the dosage accordingly under the guidance of your veterinarian.
